Our Story

Superior Molecular was founded in 2017 by Saint Paul, Minnesota native John Dugas. Originating from the Minnesota Pilot Hemp program as a licensed hemp extractor, the company established itself as a leading producer of premium refined cannabinoid oil. In 2018, Superior was commissioned by several craft breweries about the efficacy of incorporating these cannabinoids into mainstream beverage production. 

Superior not only succeeded, but raised the bar in establishing industry leading beverage infusion technology. 

In 2022, with clients suffering from rampant cease and desists - Superior played a transformative role in shaping the legalization of "edible hemp cannabinoid" products, allowing alcoholic craft beverage producers to also manufacture non-alcoholic cannabinoid based beverages. This legislation played an influential role in shaping the modern day hemp beverage market. 

The company has since diversified from solely infusion ingredients to becoming a well rounded vertically integrated cannabis company. Other areas of expertise now include analytical analysis and private label and contract manufacturing edibles.

In 2025, Superior Molecular intends to enter the tissue culture, and nursery space to support the emerging cultivation industry in Minnesota.
